Your fire-safety questions, answered.

You don’t need to know the right terminology to ask.

Plain answers to common questions. If yours is not here, ask us.

Do I need a fire risk assessment?

The requirements depend on your premises and your responsibilities. Tell us about the building and your role, and we will help you understand the next step.

What will I receive?

A written report, a prioritised action plan and clear, practical advice. We explain the findings so you understand what needs attention.

Which assessment standards do you follow?

We follow PAS 79-1 for premises other than housing, or BS 9792:2025 for housing, as appropriate to the premises and agreed scope.

Will you explain the report?

Yes. You can ask questions about the findings, priorities and recommended actions. If you already have a report you do not understand, our consultancy service can help.

How often should an assessment be reviewed?

Review it regularly and when changes or concerns could affect its validity. The appropriate review arrangements depend on your premises and risks.

How much does an assessment cost?

We quote each job individually, based on the premises and scope. Quotes are free and carry no obligation.

What if you find a problem?

We explain what we have found, why it matters and the recommended next steps. Your action plan helps you prioritise the work needed.

What does extinguisher servicing include?

We service portable fire extinguishers to BS 5306-3:2017, explain any issues and provide an extinguisher service record. The maintenance needed depends on the equipment and its history.

When should my extinguishers be serviced?

Extinguishers need regular checks and maintenance. If you are unsure when yours were last serviced, tell us about the equipment and we will advise on the appropriate next step.

How many extinguishers do I need?

The number and type depend on your premises, activities and fire risks. We explain what is appropriate for your circumstances.

Where do you work?

We are based in Leeds and serve Yorkshire, including West Yorkshire. Ask us about your location.

Can I talk to you before booking?

Of course. You do not need to know the terminology or have everything figured out. Tell us what is concerning you and we will help you understand your options.

How do I request a quote?

Send us your contact details and a short description of the premises or question. We respond within 24 hours and will ask any further questions needed to prepare your quotation.
